Elizabeth, this is such an important topic and your thought-provoking article is both inspiring and practical. Our culture could learn so much from some of the Eastern traditions that understand and accept death as a normal part of life. When we can do that, it removes some of the fear.

I have to share a mantra my father loved to share, right up to the end of his 95-years of living: "I'm going to live until I die." By that, of course, he just meant that he was going to embrace whatever time he was given and try to live it to the fullest.

Thank you for this -- it's made me pull out my notebook I've been working on for my grown children and make sure I have all the basics you mentioned.

I’m so glad it encouraged you, Elizabeth. I love your dad’s saying. May we will do just that — “live until we die.”

Oh, thanks so much, Jennifer. Your encouragement means a lot. It is hard to write (and read) about death and dying, but I feel like many people have questions and need the opportunity to discuss these things.

Thanks for this, Elizabeth. Facing a brain tumor experience has made me think a lot about how to live going forward from here. I love your writing, thanks

Yes, Bonnie. Nothing like a brain tumor to make you think about these things! So thankful for a successful surgery and continuing to pray for you in this recovery process. Let me know if I can help in any way. I’m so glad this writing encouraged you! Hugs!
