I truly love this practical, Scripture-filled encouragement. This resonates with me as someone who's needed full-time caregiving in my 30s for a season. I will definitely share this with my readers. 😀

This is so rich, Elizabeth,. One thing I particularly appreciate about it is that you offer concrete, practical, and implementable steps that most of us can do, even as our aging bodies get more frail and our world closes in around us. I am reminded of a beautiful lady in our church many years ago who was completely homebound and unable to get to church, yet we all knew she was one of the most powerful prayer warriors any of us knew.
Your steps gives us the ability to take back control of our life and our legacy in such a beautiful, faithful way. Thank you.
Elizabeth, I so appreciated your writing today. I especially lived this part:
"Scripture will not only prepare us for suffering but it will be our very near nourishment for all the days of our life. As we breathe in this air, we will exude the “aroma of heaven.”2 "
Scripture prepares us for suffering. That's not one of the top ten things you'll hear from pulpits these days, sadly.
But it's so true.
A lamp for me feet.
We need that lamp when it's dark.
I have a few people in mind who remind me of your Mrs. Sarah. I think I will share this with them. :)

Good post! Speaking as one who finds himself among the suffering/caregiving, this resonates.
